It’s not all cats & dogs; Tink & Marshy

We so enjoyed the company of gorgeous ferret furbabies Tink and Marshy! Their loving owners brought them in to see us to be spayed – a procedure that helps to keep jills (female ferrets) fit and healthy. They were star patients at our Bridlington branch, their antics creating delight amongst the clinical team.

Tink and Marshy are very lucky ferrets indeed - their owners did a fantastic job of taking great care of them at home during their recovery- they even hand made little vests for them! The vests helped to prevent inquisitive Tink and Marshy from interfering with their stitches – we think they look fabulous! As we understand it, they have requested a full range of vests from their ‘Mum’ in lots of different colours!

Looking after pets in the post-operative period is as important as the surgery itself. One of the most important considerations for the clinical team and the pet owner is to ensure that each pet is always comfortable. Pain killing medications are provided as standard, and, as you can see from the photos kindly sent in by their owner, both Tink and Marshy received theirs at home with expert administration! Giving medicines to pets at home isn’t always easy, and our team are more than happy to provide you with safe advice, guidance and demonstrations. If you would like our help, please do get in touch.

With plenty of care and TLC at home, Tink and Marshy recovered very quickly and it was business as usual in no time at all! A huge well done to their owners, who we may well recruit into the team!

Ferrets can make wonderful companions and they are naturally very playful and inquisitive. They will form a strong bond with their owners and are very sociable making them a popular pet for many.
